hahah sounds like this guy either watched the movie Van Wilder one too many times, or grew up with a nanny, butler, personal chef and driver. Now he has to share a room, do laundry and feed himself with people who have done things like that their whole life?! Bah that is so below him, how will he survive? I wonder if he also hired someone to find him friends as well...hmm.

...when all you can do is blog with Lester. Here's a T-Shirt slogan for you...

Front: "Science flies us to the moon"
Back: "Religion flies us into buildings"

This was seen recently at an annual "Pig Roast" in Gatlinburg, TN.

Hey, Lester...I sure hope you are doing well. Mavis and I were talking and our conversation brought us to your blog.
Thirty years ago if anyone of us had used the term "blog" we'd have been referring to how we felt the morning after a DII District Suite party.

If it makes you feel any better, when I read the t-shirt slogan I let out a snort of laughter so loud that my colleagues looked to see if I was okay.

Thanks for the laugh.

I have a poster of "The Outsiders" (I teach film) and students always comment on how many famous actors were in that movie as youths. Actually, I get tired of students bringing it up--it seems like more of a distraction than anything. It does draw them in to all of the other elements in my office, like a tiny framed still from "Metropolis" or cards and notes from previous students. Maybe with today's sheltered youth you kind have to begin with the familiar.

Hi All,
Interesting to note the plethora of perspectives from leaders like you...
I might want to digress slightly and come to a specific situation now. I work for an organisation A which will be sold to B very soon. Though as a communicator, I'm working very closely with the senior management and doing a series of activitivies; I require to run an internal campaign (preferably using poster medium) to sort of acquiant employees with the 'change'.

Could you propose some themes? The mesaging needs to be subtle, and certainly not on the face.

Any idea/suggestion will be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Kabir

Just a question about appropriate. I have a 15 yr old daughter in a high school band. They had a volunteer (31yrs old) working with the drummers in the band and my daughter come in contact with this guy. She is a trumpet player so there should have been no reason for her to be in contact with this guy. Seeing that he was associated with the school she accepted him as a friend (unknown to me at the time). I scan through her face book from time and I noticed that she had a message from this guy at 12:30 a.m.. Would you think that was appropriate?
